HTS’s License Plate Recognition (LPR) Software Has Been Integrated with Simac’s Sphynxx Enforcement Solution

Rishon LeZion, Israel, March 8, 2010 – Hi-Tech Solutions Ltd. (HTS), a developer and provider of optical character recognition (OCR) computer and vision systems, today announced that HTS’s License Plate Recognition (LPR) software has been integrated with Simac Business Applications’ Sphynxx enforcement solution.

HTS’s LPR software uses a series of proprietary image manipulation techniques to detect and enhance the number plate’s image, and proprietary OCR to extract the license plate’s alphanumerics. It includes self-developed Recognition Engine software for simple integration into other applications.

The Sphynxx enforcement solution primarily targets local authorities and police forces. The package includes handheld computers (Microsoft Windows CE-based) for issuing tickets. The Sphynxx solution has been recently demonstrated worldwide during the launch of Motorola’s new MC9500 rugged, handheld mobile computer.

Sphynxx handheld devices use GPRS, RFID, barcode and bluetooth technology to maximize efficiency and throughput. For faultless ticket issuing, Sphynxx uses License Plate Recognition.
